A major French-speaking Maghrebi community.
Overview
Algerians form one of Montreal’s largest Maghrebi communities, with major immigration from the 1990s and 2000s. They are concentrated in Saint-Laurent, Ahuntsic, Côte-des-Neiges and Laval.
Highly educated and French-speaking, the community is strongly represented in the professions and academia.
